Fire Mountain Software History

Our Roots Run Deep

In 1996 veteran System Administrator Steve Taylor was looking for a tool to help automate aspects of his own job, managing systems across a distributed system network.  Not finding anything available on the market, he began work on a centralized event log collection and monitoring solution to meet his needs.  After several months of development and fine-tuning, Steve came to the realization that there were many others like him who would benefit from his automation tools.

Soon after in 1997, TNT Technology incorporated and ELM was introduced to the world as a shareware application available for download.  Interest soared, as did sales.  After experiencing first year results beyond expectations, in year two Steve left his day job to pursue TNT Technology full time and never looked back.

In 2008, TNT Technology became TNT Software, Inc. and over the years, the company has grown and our products have been refined and advanced – growing and changing with emerging technologies and new compliance requirements to meet the needs of customers worldwide.  Yet with all the changes and advances, the flexible, friendly and family focused culture of the company remains very grounded and strong.

Then in 2020, we felt a change was needed, and TNT Software became Fire Mountain Software, more fitting to our roots in the northwest and Mt. St. Helens in our backyard.  At this same time we transitioned to a virtual company, providing our employees a commute-free working environment and a more flexible schedule.

We truly appreciate your business and look forward to what the next evolution of ELM technology has to offer.
